Choose the appropriate advancement workbooks for your children. Each child should have the workbook for the grade in which he is currently enrolled. Order these books online, or from Customer Service Center by calling 1 800 233-1123, or faxing (615) 251-5983.

Click below to see Suggested Advancement Schedules:

  • Lad 1 = first grader
  • Lad 2 = second grader
  • Lad 3 = third grader
  • Page 4 = fourth grader
  • Squire 5 = fifth grader
  • Knight 6 = sixth grader
  • Lad Campcraft Workbook = first, second, third graders (book will be used for three years; boys will complete a separate section of the book each year)
  • Crusader Campcraft Workbook = fourth, fifth, sixth graders (book will be used for three years; boys will complete a separate section of the book each year)

You can follow the above advancement book schedules (click on each title above to see it's suggested advancement schedule) to ensure that boys complete their advancement books in a year’s time; however, working this schedule only during RA chapter meetings may not provide sufficient time for completion. Consider the following options:

  • Allow boys to take books home or give reminders of items that can be worked on at home
  • Plan an advancement night during which boys work on advancement
  • Use the "fifth" night during the quarter to work solely on advancement
  • Recognize that each Bible verse learned, each activity completed in Lad or Crusader magazine, and each mission project participated in during a chapter meeting also counts toward advancement. Look for symbols in Lad, Crusader, and Royal Ambassador Leadership that match the advancement symbols in a child’s grade-level advancement book.

As children work through the advancement books, they can receive awards such as pins, patches, bars and stars, and Bible Memory Medals. In the first part/introduction of each book, these awards are listed and direction given on what activities need to be completed to earn which awards.

For an overview of Royal Ambassador awards and order information, see the Award Chart.

To record advancement achievement, use the RA Advancement Chart (ISBN 0840011792), sold in Baptist Book Stores or by calling 1 800 233-1123.
