To announce the launch of the new North American Mission Board web site for Royal Ambassadors, www.royalambassadors.org, the Children’s Mission Education Team announces an art contest open to all children in grades 1-6.  

Contest Begins April 1, 2002.

Contest Rules

  1. Art must be completed by children in grades 1-6 at the time of contest beginning date: April 1, 2002.
  2. Pictures must be drawn on 8 ½ inches x 11 inches white paper and adhered to cardboard of the same size (or slightly larger).
  3. Acceptable mediums include crayons, pen and ink (markers), acrylics, watercolor, and colored pencils. (No electronic submissions will be accepted—only original artwork via regular mail.)
  4. A completed entry blank--or an exact copy of it in size and content--must be taped securely to the back of each entry. (See entry blank below.)
  5. A child may enter no more than three (3) pictures in each category (a maximum of six pictures for any one child). The two categories are MissionKids and Royal Ambassadors.
  6. Pictures entered must be drawn during the period of the contest (April 1, 2002 through June 30, 2002).
  7. All entries must be postmarked not later than June 30, 2002.
  8. Entries will be judged by the editing and design staff of the North American Mission Board.
  9. Entries will be judged on the basis of originality, artistic quality, and on how well they illustrate the theme, “Carry the Message of Christ Around the World.”
  10. No entries will be returned. Entries become the sole property of the North American Mission Board.
  11. The editors reserve the right to print any entry they choose and names of winners in upcoming Royal Ambassadors print resources, MissionKids print resources, and post on NAMB web sites.  
  12. Two Grand Prize Winners--one from the Royal Ambassadors category and one from the MissionKids Category--will be notified during the week of July 1 through 7 via e-mail, if provided, or direct mail.
  13. Grand Prize Winners will:

1) Have winning art piece featured as the cover art for either the Royal Ambassadors Planbook or the MissionKids Annual Leader Book (depending on which category they entered);

2 Receive a Winner's Certificate

3) Receive a gift basket full of goodies

In addition, the winning art piece will be framed and matted and hung in a designated place at the North American Mission Board for all to see.
