God's Plan for Me:  Pray!
Launch Pad Verse: "and (we) will give our attention to prayer and the ministry of the word." Acts 6:4 (NIV)
Activity:  Got plans for yourself? God does! Prayer is the first important part of making plans if you are a Christian.

Draw three circles of different colors. On each circle, place the name of one friend at school, a friend in your neighborhood, or someone else you know who may not know Jesus.

Cut out the circles and put them on your bulletin board or wall or another place where you will see them and remember to pray for them often.

Now make a list of praying Christians you know at church or in your family. Choose one to ask to be your prayer partner. This means you will ask that person to pray for the special things and people you are praying about and promise to pray for the ones they tell you about too.  Sometimes you will pray together.

Ignition Stop & Think:

When you read the words "give ourselves to prayer" in Acts 6:4, does it sound as if prayer is very important?

Does it sound as if there should be prayer partners?

If you answered "yes" to both questions, you are RIGHT ON! If you want to discover God's plans for you, begin with prayer (talking to God) and Bible reading (listening to God) every day.

Blast Off!

Pray: Dear God, please teach me to pray before making plans for myself. Help me to find a prayer partner.
Go & Do: Each day this week, ask God to help you choose one person to pray for. Write a note to let that person know you prayed for her or him.
