Understanding
Today's Children: Developing Tomorrow's Leaders Today "Do
all children learn the same way?" This basic question is explored
through discussions on learning styles (preferences), regarding learning
environment, avenues of learning, working alone or with others, time of
day, and movement. Spiritual Growth in Children and Discipline &
Behavioral Issues are also discussed at length. To visit the web site, go

Tricky Ball Bounce
at least 4 boys
two tennis balls
two wastebaskets
- Divide the boys into two teams.
- Place the wastebaskets in front of a
wall.
- Give each team a tennis ball. The boys
should be in a straight line four to five feet away from the
wastebaskets.
- When the counselor says "go,"
the boys are to bounce the balls into the wastebaskets. They cannot
"shoot" them like a basketball.
- They can bounce them straight into the
basket, or bounce them off the wall into the basket.
- The first team to get 10 points wins.
Snatch the Cloth
a handkerchief
at least 4 boys
- Form relay lines outdoors or in a gym
about 40 feet apart.
- Have boys turn so they are facing the
other team.
- Count the boys and give each boy a
number. Each team will have a number 1, a number 2, and so on. Make
sure teams are even.
- When the leader calls out one of the
numbers on the teams, the boy from each side with that number runs to
a place halfway between the groups where the handkerchief is lying on
the ground.
- The boy who succeeds in getting the
cloth and running back to his side without being touched by the other
boy makes a point for his team.
- If a boy touches the other boy while he
has the cloth, he makes a point for his team.
- After a period of 5 or 10 minutes, the
team having the most points is the winner.
