Neighborhood
Door Hangers
Print out these door hangers. Decorate them
with attractive pictures. Print your church name, address, phone number, web
site (if your church has one), and times (Sunday School and church start times).
With a friend or family member, go around to houses in your neighborhood and
leave a door hanger invitation on their door.
Free
Refreshment Stand
Set up a free refreshment stand in your neighborhood. When someone asks you
why it is free, tell them you are doing this to show the love of Jesus. You
may want a parent with you to help you share with adults. Ideas for refreshments:
Lemonade, chocolate chip cookies. Visit
Betty Crocker's web site
and do a search for "cookies" to view hundreds of delicious cookie recipes.
Gift Wrapping Paper with a Mission
For birthdays or for Christmas right around the corner, make your own wrapping
paper. You will need tissue paper, brown grocery bags, sponge shapes, tempera
paint, your thumb, and stamp pads.
It is easy to make gift wrap. Practice making designs (on newspaper)
before you start to decorate the tissue (or brown bag paper). Spread the tissue
out on a flat surface. Dip the sponge shapes into the tempera paint and then
onto the tissue paper. Let the paper dry. Add your thumbprint shapes at various
places on the paper. Let the paper dry before wrapping your gifts. Try to make
a heart, a family portrait, a cross, a Christmas wreath, a snow man, or a reindeer
from your thumbprints. Write out favorite Bible verses on your gift paper as
a final touch! Have fun!
Back to School--New Friends-- Movie Night
It's the start of a new school year. You're meeting new friends. Why not have
a Back-To-School-New-Friend Movie Night? Visit
LifeWay
Stores On-line to check out the latest children's videos--like VeggieTales.
Pop some popcorn, shove a tape in, dim the lights and have a fun time with your
new friends! Showing a Christian video is a fun way to share Jesus with your
friends!
