Tricky Ball Bounce
at least 4 boys
two tennis balls
two wastebaskets

  1. Divide the boys into two teams.
  2. Place the wastebaskets in front of a wall.
  3. Give each team a tennis ball. The boys should be in a straight line four to five feet away from the wastebaskets.
  4. When the counselor says "go," the boys are to bounce the balls into the wastebaskets. They cannot "shoot" them like a basketball.
  5. They can bounce them straight into the basket, or bounce them off the wall into the basket.
  6. The first team to get 10 points wins.

Snatch the Cloth
a handkerchief
at least 4 boys

  1. Form relay lines outdoors or in a gym about 40 feet apart.
  2. Have boys turn so they are facing the other team.
  3. Count the boys and give each boy a number. Each team will have a number 1, a number 2, and so on. Make sure teams are even.
  4. When the leader calls out one of the numbers on the teams, the boy from each side with that number runs to a place halfway between the groups where the handkerchief is lying on the ground.
  5. The boy who succeeds in getting the cloth and running back to his side without being touched by the other boy makes a point for his team.
  6. If a boy touches the other boy while he has the cloth, he makes a point for his team.
  7. After a period of 5 or 10 minutes, the team having the most points is the winner.
